Take Command…
After Defending Australia for 30-years, this Land Rover Defender 110 is now free to explore the Great Southern Land at her leisure.
Aptly named the “Perentie”, these ADF Defenders take their name from Australia’s largest lizard, scientifically known as Varanus giganteus… the name says it all.
This truck is the FFR (Fitted for Radio) variant as identified by the remaining rear radio auxiliary, dual underside battery boxes, and fixed low-line tailgate.
Featuring a military specified 3.9lt Isuzu engine, galvanised chassis, and an all-aluminium body, this hand-build Defender 110 is one of the most capable and reliable Defenders ever created.
This Defender is as tough on the street as she is in the bush. Retired from the Military Police in 2019, this example was recommissioned by the current owner who purchased it directly from the ADF, complete with Australian Defence Force Service Log & Paperwork
Having since undergone a polite mechanical restoration, body refurbishment, and power-steering upgrade, retirement is looking surprisingly good on this big truck. Now fitted with a skimpy black “Bikini-Top” canvas roof, she might be wearing less than she did in her days of service, but we’re honestly happy to see it.
Many these exotic lizards have found new homes abroad, with sightings as far away as The Big Apple. Snap up this Perentie today, before it’s too late. You’re not Goanna want to miss out on this one.

“Hiding behind its camouflage, this Defender can paradoxically be labelled as both ‘reliable’ and a Land Rover”.
